Introduction to Fire Safety in Hervey Bay

Fire safety is a major concern at any workplace in Hervey Bay, where tourism, high-rise buildings, and industrial businesses keep things bustling. Statistically, thousands of workplace fires happen across Australia every year - a stark reminder of how crucial it is to have well-trained fire wardens on hand. These fire warden roles are a key component of your emergency control organisation (ECO), ensuring your team has a plan in place and can spring into action during an emergency.

We run fire warden training courses in Hervey Bay that come in both online and in-person formats, so your team can gain the knowledge and skills they need to handle fire emergencies with ease. Whether it's a high-rise office, a manufacturing facility or a local tourism business, our training will have your workplace fire-ready. Our online training is great for staff who want to learn at their own pace, while our in-person sessions focus on hands-on learning with practical drills.

Our courses are aligned with Aussie standards like AS 3745-2010, and they come with nationally recognised certification. This means your business will tick all the compliance boxes, and your team will feel confident and prepared to take on any fire-related emergency that comes their way.

Why Fire Warden Training is a Must in Hervey Bay

In Hervey Bay, fire warden training isn't just a suggestion - it's a legal requirement for certain businesses under Aussie regulations. The AS 3745-2010 standard and Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations mean that businesses need to appoint and train fire wardens, especially in high-risk environments.

Why Not Having Fire Wardens Can Land You in Trouble:

  • You could be slugged with some pretty hefty fines if your business doesn't comply with fire safety requirements.
  • If an emergency happens and your fire wardens haven't done their job, your business could be held liable for any injuries or damage.
  • And if you're not running a properly trained fire warden program, your business insurance could be voided - leaving you with no safety net in case of a fire.

How Many Fire Wardens Do You Need in Your Hervey Bay Workplace?

It's generally recommended to have one fire warden for every 20 people on site, but this can vary depending on the size and risk level of your workplace. High-risk environments like high-rise buildings, hotels, or large industrial sites, will need more fire wardens on hand to ensure compliance and safety.

  • Staffing Up: As a rough guide, one fire warden per 20 employees on site is a good rule of thumb, or you can base it on your workplace's individual risk assessment.

  • Communication Is Key: Remind people of the risks and encourage them to get out of there quickly, clearly and firmly.
