Introducing Fire Safety in Your Gold Coast Workplace

Fire safety is a given in the Gold Coast, where the mix of high-rise buildings, bustling commercial areas and tourism hotspots create the perfect recipe for workplace fires. Every year, fires break out in Australian workplaces, hammering home the importance of fire safety and the need for trained professionals to take charge when disaster strikes.

And with laws in place - like the AS 3745-2010 standard and Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations - having a fire warden in place isn't just a good idea - it's the law.

Whether you run a high-rise building, a retail outlet or an industrial facility, fire warden training courses are a no-brainer for your team. We offer a range of training programs that can be done online or in-person, because let's be honest - not every team has the same schedule. Our online fire warden training program is a real lifesaver for busy teams, allowing staff to complete their fire safety training at their own pace, from anywhere in the Gold Coast.

Our training is designed to meet the very latest Australian Standards, so you know you're getting training that's up to the minute and compliant with all the relevant laws. And, of course, all our participants get certified on completion, so you can rest easy knowing your team is ready to handle any emergency that comes their way.

Why Fire Warden Training is a Must on the Gold Coast

In workplaces across the Gold Coast, fire warden training isn't just a nice to have - it's a must. And that's because the law says so. The AS 3745-2010 standard and WHS regulations are crystal clear: businesses need to have designated fire wardens, especially in high-risk areas.

The Risks of Non-Compliance:

  • Fines are likely: If you're not complying with fire safety regulations, you can bet your business will be slapped with a hefty fine.
  • Your business could be on the hook: In the event of an emergency, if your fire warden duties aren't being met, you could be held liable.
  • Insurance woes: Not having adequately trained fire wardens can wipe out your business's insurance policy in the event of a fire.

How Many Fire Wardens Do You Need?

The general rule of thumb is one fire warden per 20 people on site, although this can vary depending on the size and risks of your workplace. In high-risk areas like shopping malls, high-rises or schools, you'll need even more fire wardens to make sure everyone is safe.

  • A rough guide for staffing: One fire warden per 20 employees or based on the building’s risk assessment.
