Course Description
This course provides individuals with a practical understanding of fire safety processes and procedures. The course has been developed to cover a broad range of emergencies and facilities as considered in Australian Standard 3745 and Australian Standard 4083. It teaches individuals to be emergency aware and how to effectively respond to emergencies to contribute to a safer environment at work and in the community. By completing this course, students will gain a basic understanding of:
- Safe work practices
- Emergency signs, signals and warnings
- Emergency systems and equipment
- Evacuation procedures
- Emergency response procedures
- Fire and emergency prevention

Entry Requirements
Online learning: Students must have basic digital literacy skills to navigate online platforms, complete assessments, and access course materials. Before enrolment, students should assess their ability to engage in online learning. Support is available where required.
The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and associated assessment tasks.
Certificate Renewal Requirements
This certificate does not require renewal.
